More Answered Prayer
Sweet Pea started singing in a homeschool choir last month. Being a bit shy, she cried when I went to sit with the other moms at the first practice. I had to sit next to her for the whole practice. Over the next few days we talked about fear and God. We began to memorize Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." We prayed. We got friends to pray. We are studying Moses, both at BSF and at home, so we talked about how Moses was afraid sometimes also.
This past Friday the homeschool choir sang at a nursing home. Once again, we see God's hand of grace in answered prayer. Look at my sweet little thing! (and notice that I am not standing next to her!)

Meet the Miracles
Some of you have never seen Sweet Pea or Handsome in person. They are our two miracles. We experienced a total of 9.5 years of barrenness and 3 losses. These two were born against all odds. They were and are much prayed for.
Sweet Pea's birth announcement included James 1:17. "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows."

Handsome's birth announcement included John 1:16. "From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another." After a slow start ("Mom, when will we take Handsome to his REAL home?"), the two are best friends. They always have hugs for each other. Recently, Sweet Pea cried after she realized the (parent-inflicted) consequences of a poor choice she had made. Handsome ran over to her and hugged her. He rubbed her back and then turned and gave Stud and me a dirty look. Apparently, we have become the enemy.

Welcome?
I know that at least two of you will be reading this. I thank you for validating my blogging presence.
As I start this blogging "journey" I want to have a goal in mind. I guess my goal is, more than anything, to share the stories of grace that we have been given. God's grace is so great. I want to always be speaking of the wonderful things He does. Psalm 66:5 says, "Come and see what God has done, how awesome His works in man's behalf." May my words always proclaim His goodness!
In sharing His goodness and the laughter He has granted us, I hope to make "my readers" (how snooty does that sound?) feel like they know us a little better and that they are a little less far away. In contemplating a title for this blog, "Not My Home" came to mind. Florida has never felt like home, but now our hometown doesn't either. I've come to the realization that no place on earth will ever truly feel like home. I am not home yet and won't be till I cross the Jordan. Until then, I am realizing that feelings of home come with sharing our lives with friends and family - wherever they are.
One last note. I'm a bit paranoid, so I won't be using our real names. I am Aimster. My beautiful daughter will be known here as Sweet Pea. My son is Handsome. My husband has requested that I herein refer to him as Stud.
